This section of Boone Fork in North Carolina is 4.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV(V+) section of whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in North Carolina are often easier than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. The nature scenery of North Carolina and the water flowing gracefully down Boone Fork will make you feel great. Boone Fork doesn't
have a lot of paddling stretches, the Julian Price Park to Watauga stretch is the only one. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. There are nice comfortable
hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The put-in location is a short drive from Boone, as you can see on the road map further down. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places.

sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are generally in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Boone Fork dip into the 10's.
