The Julian Price Park to Watauga section of Boone Fork is 4.5 miles long and is a class III-IV(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful Watauga County scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. Briefly about the general area: While staying at Boone Fork you could always discover Young Hollow, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Boone. Summer at Boone Fork comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Boone Fork. Boone Fork is a wet place that gets much precipitation; May is when you get the most rain here while December is usually the driest month.
