The to French Broad River stretch of Brush Creek is 5 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Madison County and the water flowing gracefully down Brush Creek will make you feel great. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. For all you camping people there are campgrounds     nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. The beautiful Great Smoky Mountains scenery is an added bonus. This is the only paddling stretch along Brush Creek. The average North Carolina whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. Briefly about the general area: Mulberry Gap is a tremendous site to stop by close by. Summertime highs at Brush Creek mostly tend to be in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily   in the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Brush Creek are in the 20's. Brush Creek is a wet site that gets much rain; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest month of the year is October.
