The to French Broad River stretch of Brush Creek is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in North Carolina are often more forgiving than in other states, so don't forget that a large
number of rivers in this state are quite easy. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. There's camping available near Brush Creek. Brush Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the to French Broad River section is the only one. Getting some
good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The beautiful Great Smoky Mountains scenery is an added bonus. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. is typically the driest month. If you yearn for a little side trip, try Mulberry Gap. Through the months of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Brush Creek. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Brush Creek temperatures sink to the 20's.
