The Avents Ferry to Erwin section of Cape Fear in North Carolina is 24 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. page. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. There are no other sections to paddle along Cape Fear than the Avents Ferry to Erwin section. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that
| around here. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. The campgrounds here at Cape Fear are pretty good. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

There is a good hiking trail in close proximity to Cape Fear called the Little Creek Loop Trail, and lots of folks from Dunn come here. The Group Camp Trail is a good hiking trail close to Cape Fear.
