Says Michael The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in North Carolina are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. The nature scenery of North Carolina and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. This is a very short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. There are a few other sections in this river system     that can be paddled as well. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Lodging is available near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The put-in location is a short drive from Lincolnton, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other rivers for that.
