Whitewater rafting     and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The beautiful Great Smoky Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Briefly about the general area: Sam Cove is a magnificent location to take a look at close by. Cheoah River is a rather wet   place mostly with a great deal of rainfall; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is October. For the duration of the summertime months at Cheoah River temperatures are mostly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. Highs during the winter are generally in the 40's, and overnight lows all through the wintertime for Cheoah River tend to be in the 20's.
