This stretch of Cheoah River is 7.1 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in North Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The river winds through the Great Smoky Mountains and you get great scenery. Cheoah River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Grocery Store to Calderwood Lake Boat Launch     stretch is the only one.
