The beautiful scenery of Macon/Rabun County and the water flowing gracefully down Clear Creek make the trip here worthwhile. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Creek in North Carolina is 2 miles long and has been rated as a class III+(V+) section by American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The Blue Ridge
Mountains scenery is wonderful. The Off Highway 28 Into Overflow Creek stretch is the only paddling stretch along Clear Creek. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
Briefly about the general area: Good hiking is available along the Burrells Ford Trail, and a great place to check out close by is Wheel Branch Gap. A good deal of rain falls at Clear Creek; March is the wettest month with most
rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This place, the Blue Ridge Mountains, has so much outdoors amusing things. Don't leave Clear Creek without first going for a hike along the Three Forks Trail. All through the days of summer, highs ordinarily
are in the 80's at Clear Creek. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Clear Creek.
