The starting location is a short drive from Brevard, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a pretty short
section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. This stretch of Courthouse Creek is 3 miles long and is a class III-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons
to come. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The nature scenery of Transylvania County and the water flowing gracefully down Courthouse Creek have people coming here. The Trailhead to National Forest French Broad stretch is the only paddling stretch along Courthouse Creek. The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great plus for this river.

of outdoors cool stuff the Blue Ridge Mountains has to offer. Courthouse Falls is a glorious local attraction. While you're here at Courthouse Creek you can take a hike along the Art Loeb Trail; you might also want to pay a visit to Summey Cove while you're here at Courthouse
Creek. Courthouse Creek is a rather wet place ordinarily with a large amount of rain; March is when you get the most rain here while October is generally the driest month.
