The natural beauty of North Carolina and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the     river in one stretch. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Asheville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is the only paddling section along Cove Creek. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. Briefly about the general area: Cove Creek is a relatively wet place regularly with a good deal of rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while January is mostly the driest month. High temperatures at   Cove Creek all through the warm days of summer are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Cove Creek. A visit to Bradley Falls will fill your soul with fine feelings.
