The nature scenery of North Carolina and the water flowing gracefully down Cullasaja River attract people from near and far. The average North Carolina whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations
you might end up sleeping in your car. This section of Cullasaja River is 2 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V(V+) section by American Whitewater. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. A good workout and
just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The put-in is not too far from Seneca, as you can see on the road map further down. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.
