The nature scenery of North Carolina and the water flowing gracefully down Cullasaja River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The starting point is not too far from Seneca, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch of Cullasaja River in Macon County is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V(V+) section of whitewater. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is wonderful. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often
easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. This is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks. There's camping available near Cullasaja River.

with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows fall down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; night lows in the 20's for Cullasaja River.
