Hwy 772 access as been roped off with No-Trespassing signs. This access is used a lot during the summer months, but evidently it is private property or someone is confused.

rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This section of Dan River is 17.8 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater.
Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: During the summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Dan River. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and nighttime
lows in the 20's for Dan River. Dan River usually gets a large amount of rain; July is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is January.
