This stretch of Davidson River in North Carolina is 3.5 miles long and it is classified as a class III+(IV) section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of North Carolina and the playfulness of the water beats anything. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in North Carolina are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping
in your car. The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great plus for this river. This is a short paddling stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Great exercise and a chance
to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The put-in is not too far from Brevard, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The Forest Service Road 475-A to Looking Glass Creek stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system.

Trail is a pleasant hiking trail near Davidson River, and you might also want to pay a visit to Fate Osteen Cove while you're here at Davidson River. Davidson River sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is March, and the driest month is October.
Near Davidson River you locate the Black Mountain Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail, and don't leave Davidson River without first paying a visit to Slick Rock Falls. At Davidson River throughout the summer highs are in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures
fall down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Davidson River dip into the 20's.
