The starting location is a reasonable drive from Sevierville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The average North Carolina whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The river winds through the Great Smoky Mountains and you get great scenery. This stretch of Deep Creek in North Carolina is 3 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. For
all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The Bryson City stretch is the only paddling stretch along Deep Creek. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations
in advance you're all set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. The nature scenery of North Carolina and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle.

of the summer months here at Deep Creek, high temperatures generally reach the 80's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 60's. Highs during the winter are commonly in the 40's while Deep Creek night low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's.
