Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The wonderful North Carolina scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Elk River are reasons enough to come here and paddle.
