Whitewater rafting and kayaking in North Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Route 1567 below Duke Dam to US Route 501 stretch is one of them. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning     trip. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Durham, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The wonderful North Carolina scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Lodging is available near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Briefly about the general area: Eno River gets a good deal of water; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain; April on the other hand is the driest. For the period of the summertime months at   Eno River temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Eno River.
