You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. A bit of exercise and just hanging out
with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. If you're coming from Brevard it's not a long drive
at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the East Fork Road at Laurel Branch to French Broad River section is one of them. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is an added bonus.
