This stretch of French Broad River - North Fork is 7.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV+(V) section of whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside North Carolina you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. The natural beauty of North Carolina

On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Route 1326 Bridge to US Route 64 Bridge stretch is one of them. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that.
