The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Asheville, as you can see on the road map further down. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in North Carolina are often more forgiving than in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. If you're a camper you can camp at one of
the great campgrounds nearby. The nature scenery of Henderson/ Polk County and the water flowing gracefully down Green River beats anything. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The Hungry Creek to Green River
Cove Road section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. This stretch of Green River in North Carolina is 2.9 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater paddling here in the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great experience. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
