The campgrounds here at Green River are pretty good. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and just being out on the     river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The natural beauty of Henderson/ Polk County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Hungry Creek to Green River Cove Road section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great plus for this river. Briefly about the general area: Green River gets much water; the wettest month of the year is usually March, that's the one that rains the most while January is ordinarily the driest month. If you want a little   side spree, try The Narrows. At Green River through the summer months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. Highs during the winter are generally in the 40's; night lows in the 20's for Green River.
