The wonderful Moore/Hoke/Cumberland County scenery and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. This section of Little River in North Carolina is 8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I section. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Fayetteville, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. way there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. Little River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Morrison Bridge to Ft.Bragg section is
| the only one. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area:
All the water falling down from the sky makes Little River a wet place; most of the rain falls all through July while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation. For the period of the long summer days, highs commonly are in the 80's at Little River. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. Highs all through the wintertime are regularly in the 40's; overnight lows in the 20's for Little River.
