There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back     for more. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Johnson U. to US Route 501 section is one of them. This section of Little River in Durham County is 1.5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-IV section by American Whitewater. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Briefly about the general area: Little River sees pretty high levels of precipitation; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain; April on the other hand is the driest. All through the days of summer here at Little River, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's.
