The put-in location is a short drive from Henderson, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The nature scenery of North Carolina and the water flowing gracefully down Little Fishing Creek beats anything. There are campgrounds quite near     the river where you can camp. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. For the period of the winter highs   are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Little Fishing Creek. Little Fishing Creek is a wet location that gets much rainfall; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is April.
