If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside North Carolina you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The Kimsey Creek to US 64 section of Nantahala River is 4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II(III) section. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature
will make you glad you came. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Kimsey Creek to US 64 stretch is one of many paddling stretches in
this river system. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The wonderful North Carolina scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Nantahala River dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. All the water falling down from the sky makes Nantahala River a wet spot; during the month of March you get the most rain around here, and October is the month with the least moisture.
