The Highway 64 to Nantahala Lake stretch of Nantahala River in North Carolina is 12.74 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II+(III) section. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before
you come because it is a very popular destination. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is wonderful. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less
demanding. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Highway 64 to Nantahala Lake stretch is just one of many. The nature scenery of North Carolina and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile.

the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are mostly in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Nantahala River. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If the weather is perfect here at Nantahala River, you can go for a hike along the Thorn Mountain Trail.
