The beautiful scenery of North Carolina and the water flowing gracefully down Noland Creek make the trip here worthwhile. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in North Carolina are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The starting point is not too far from Sevierville, as you can see on the road map further down. The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is a great plus for this river. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The Lakeview Road to Fontana Lake stretch is the only paddling stretch along Noland Creek. This stretch is very short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours
on the river in one stretch. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that.
Briefly about the general area: Yep, outdoors cool things truly is plentiful here in the Great Smoky Mountains. Poplar Cove is a nice site to pop by close by, and close by you discover the Tsali Horse Trail which is a great hiking trail. Noland Creek gets a good deal of water;
during March this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is October. Summertime highs at Noland Creek usually tend to be in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Noland Creek plunge into the 20's.
