The nature scenery of North Carolina and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at North Harper Creek during the months of summer are in the 70's. For the period of the   dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's while North Harper Creek nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. The high level of rain makes North Harper Creek a quite wet spot; the month with most of the rain is May; December is the month with the least moisture. Don't leave North Harper Creek without first going for a hike along the Yancey Ridge Trail.
