Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in North Carolina tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The wonderful North Carolina scenery and the water flowing gracefully down North Pacolet River make the trip here worthwhile. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance     to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The put-in is not too far from Greenville, as you can see on the road map further down. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. North Pacolet River is a wet spot that gets lots of precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and April meanwhile is the driest month. Summertime highs at North Pacolet River frequently tend to be in the 80's while night lows are usually in the 60's.
