The Pearsons Falls along Highway 176 to Tryon stretch of North Pacolet River in Henderson/Polk County is 4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. The wonderful North Carolina scenery and the water flowing gracefully down North Pacolet River make the trip here worthwhile. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The     nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Pearsons Falls along Highway 176 to Tryon stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in North Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere.
