The Plumtree to Bush Rd/Rt. 19E section of North Toe River in Avery County is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. The starting location is a short drive from Boone, as you can see on the road map further down. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are less demanding. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near
the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This section has enough mileage for an overnight
trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more.
