Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This is the only paddling stretch along Norton Creek. This is a short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes.
