On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll     have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.
