Whitewater rafting and kayaking in North Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. This stretch of Pigeon River - East Fork in North Carolina is 8.7 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful North Carolina scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance
to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are plenty of other stretches
in this river system that can be paddled as well. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The starting location is a short drive from Brevard, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater paddling here in the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great experience.
