The Job Corps Bridge to Confluence with Oconalufftee stretch of Raven Fork in North Carolina is 8 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III+(IV) section by American Whitewater. some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. The beautiful Great Smoky Mountains scenery is an added bonus. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places.
Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Raven Fork throughout the summertime months are in the 80's, and through the night
it cools down to the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Raven Fork. Put some time aside to spend at Mingo Falls if you're here at Raven Fork. Raven Fork is a relatively wet place regularly with a great deal of rain; most of the rain falls throughout March; October meanwhile is the driest month.
