This     stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The nature scenery of North Carolina and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. This stretch of Rocky River in North Carolina is 7 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is the only paddling section along Rocky River. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: During the summer at Rocky River temperatures are frequently in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. Through the winter highs are typically in the 40's with temperatures   at Rocky River dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. The high level of rainfall makes Rocky River a rather wet location; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain; November on the other hand is the driest.
