  The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Asheville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This section of Rocky Broad River in North Carolina is 3.6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. The beautiful scenery of Henderson/Buncombe County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit
    more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are plenty of hotels here if you want
to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Bridge at Flat Creek Road to Bridge at US Route 64 section is one of them. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.

Throughout the long summer days, highs generally are in the 80's at Rocky Broad River. Through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows all through the winter for Rocky Broad River tend to be in the 20's. So many enjoyable things in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just mind-blowing. A short journey to The Cascades is always worthwhile.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Rocky Broad River a wet site; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is December. Camp Minnehaha Falls is a picturesque location to go to while you're at Rocky Broad River, and if you crave a little side visit, try Standing Gap.
