The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Asheville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This section of Rocky Broad River in North Carolina is 3.6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. The beautiful scenery of Henderson/Buncombe County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit
more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are plenty of hotels here if you want
to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Bridge at Flat Creek Road to Bridge at US Route 64 section is one of them. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
