  The US 19/Soco Creek Road to US Route 441 Bridge section of Soco Creek in Jackson County is 8.5 miles long and it is classified as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of North Carolina and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This section is long enough to enjoy
    a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs
in this state are very easy. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful Great Smoky Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is the only paddling section along Soco Creek.
