This stretch of Spring Creek in Madison County is 7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV(V) section of whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Madison County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll
have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. There's camping available near Spring Creek. If you've been whitewater rafting
and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. There are no other sections to paddle along Spring Creek than the Route 1171 to Hot Springs section. The wild scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains is great.

lows are mostly in the 60's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Spring Creek. Spring Creek sees pretty high levels of rainfall; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month
of the year is October. This is a really good river. These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting stuff to do in the Great Smoky Mountains. Hiking along the Walnut Mountain Trail is delightful fun, and what would a spot like Spring Creek be without attention-grabbing
nearby traits like Stony Spur Cliff. Vann Cliff is a good place to pop by while in the neighborhood, and a brilliant place to check out is Taylor Hollow Gap.
