The beautiful scenery of North Carolina and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This is the only paddling section along Swannanoa River. This section of Swannanoa River in Buncombe County is 8.6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip.

of the year is typically July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is October. During the months of summer at Swannanoa River temperatures are commonly in the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Swannanoa River are in the 20's.
