If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.     The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great plus for this river. This is the only paddling section along Toe River - South. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Toe River - South all through the warm days of summer are   in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Toe River - South descend into the 20's. The high level of precipitation makes Toe River - South a pretty wet site; the month with most of the rain is July while October is mostly the driest month.
