The starting point is not too far from Brevard, as you can see on the road map further down. The Frozen Creek Road Bridge to Lake Jocassee section of Toxaway Creek in Transylvania County is 3.6 miles long and has been rated as a class II-V+ section by American Whitewater. Whitewater paddling here in the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great experience.     For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful scenery of North Carolina and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Frozen Creek Road Bridge to Lake Jocassee section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the summer months at Toxaway   Creek temperatures are frequently in the 70's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Toxaway Creek are in the 20's. A visit to Toxaway Creek wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Whitewater Falls, and you might also want to pay a visit to Round Mountain Gap while you're here at Toxaway Creek. Man, is there a heap of amusing things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Toxaway Creek mostly gets a large amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is typically March, that's the one that rains the most while April is ordinarily the driest month.
