The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Brevard, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of Transylvania County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. The Frozen Creek Road Bridge to Lake Jocassee stretch is one of a few paddling stretches
in this river system. This is a short paddling stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. This stretch of Toxaway Creek is 3.6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-V+ section. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking
here in North Carolina are often more forgiving than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more.
