The put-in is not too far from Brevard, as you can see on the road map further down. This section of Toxaway River in North Carolina is 3.69 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V+ section of whitewater. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve     in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The nature scenery of North Carolina and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whitewater paddling here in the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great experience. Briefly about the general area: Toxaway River frequently gets much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly March, that's   the one that rains the most, and April is the month with the least moisture. If you feel like a little side trip, try Turkeypen Gap. At Toxaway River through the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are commonly in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Toxaway River.
