There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Above Lake Toxaway section is one of them. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Above Lake Toxaway stretch of Toxaway     River - Upper in Transylvania County is 2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V+ section. Whitewater paddling here in the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great experience. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came.
