This section of Tuckasegee River in North Carolina is 9.4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II(III) section. The starting point is not too far from Brevard, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of North Carolina and the water flowing gracefully down Tuckasegee River attract people from near and far. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in North Carolina are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that
a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Cedar Cliff Reservior to Cullowhee stretch
is just one of them. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

most of the rain, and the driest of the months is October. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Tuckasegee River. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's with temperatures at Tuckasegee River dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
