The river winds through the Great Smoky Mountains and you get great scenery. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. Briefly about the general area: Through the days of summer highs here at Tuckasegee River reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. The cold   days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Tuckasegee River tend to be in the 20's.
