Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The put-in is not too far from Dunn, as you can see on the road map further down. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.     For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. Upper Little River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Route 2016 to North Carolina Route 217 section is the only one. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: Through the warmest time of the year here at Upper Little River, high temperatures usually get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Upper Little River are in the 20's.
