The Bullpen Road to Highway 281 section of Whitewater River in Jackson/Transylvania County is 4 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V+ section of whitewater. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers
for that around here. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The nature scenery of North Carolina and the water flowing gracefully down Whitewater River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The
Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is wonderful. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Bullpen Road to Highway 281 section is one of them. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in North Carolina are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding.

the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is April. You might want to pay a visit to Happy Hollow since you're here at Whitewater River, and there is a delightful hiking trail close by called the Foothills Trail. And that's not everything there is to do here in
the Blue Ridge Mountains. Upper Falls is an inspiring place to stop at while here. Throughout the months of summer highs here at Whitewater River get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; night lows throughout the winter for Whitewater River tend to be in the 20's.
