The Below Brown Mountain Beach to Johns River stretch of Wilson Creek in Caldwell County is 4 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II(III) section by American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better
keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip.
The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great plus for this river.
