The beautiful scenery of North Carolina and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This is the only paddling section along Yadkin River. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is wonderful. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better     reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The put-in location is a short drive from North Wilkesboro, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Briefly about the general area: Much rain falls at Yadkin River; the wettest month of the year is regularly June, that's the one that rains the most, and November on the other hand is the driest. At Yadkin   River during the warm months highs are in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Yadkin River.
