a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is a great plus for this river. This is a very short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.
Briefly about the general area: Yellow Creek is a pretty wet place generally with much rain; during the month of March you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is October. Kirkland Gap is a fine place to pop by close by, and don't leave Yellow Creek without first going
for a hike along the Long Hungry Ridge Trail. But wait, there's more cool things to do in the Great Smoky Mountains. High temperatures at Yellow Creek during the summertime are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are typically in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Yellow Creek.
