The scenic beauty of Lake County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. There are campgrounds     quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch of Chagrin River is 7.7 miles long and it is classified as a class I section by American Whitewater. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. There are many good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area: Elk Point is not far from Chagrin River at all.
