The nature scenery of Cuyahoga County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Ohio are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This is the only paddling section along Lake Erie. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can     camp. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Briefly about the general area: A great beach next to Lake Erie is Perkins Beach. The yearly precipitation here at Lake Erie is about average; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is January. Summertime highs at Lake Erie usually tend to be in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 60's.
