Ohio whitewater - Lee's Creek, Highland County Highland county, Rt. 28 to Rattlesnake Creek section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS III     2.2 miles   Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The wonderful Highland County scenery and the cool fresh water have people coming here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. There are no other stretches to paddle along Lee's Creek than the     Rt. 28 to Rattlesnake Creek stretch. This section is quite short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Washington, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other places. Briefly about the general area: At Lee's Creek all through the warm months highs are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are typically in the 30's, and   after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Lee's Creek plunge into the 10's. Lee's Creek gets a normal amount of rainfall; throughout May this area sees the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest.
