If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This section of Little Beaver Creek in Columbiana County is 5.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a pretty     small number of paddling spots. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Lusk Lock to State Park stretch is one of them. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The starting location is a short drive from East Liverpool-Salem, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Briefly about the general area: The amount of precipitation that falls at Little Beaver Creek is close to the national average; July is the month that gets the most rain, and January meanwhile is the   driest month. There is a great hiking trail near Little Beaver Creek called the Pine Ridge Trail, and going for a hike on the Dogwood Trail is always a great adventure. All through the summertime at Little Beaver Creek highs are generally in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's while Little Beaver Creek nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.
