This stretch of Little Beaver Creek is 7 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. If you're coming from East Liverpool-Salem it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Ohio are often easier than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The wonderful Columbiana County scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. |

There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd
| better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the State Park to Fredericktown section is one of them.

down into the 10's through winter nights. Have a great hiking adventure along the Fishermans Trail, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Gretchens Lock Trail.
