Ohio whitewater - Little Beaver Creek, Columbiana County Columbiana county, State Park to Fredericktown section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-II     7 miles   This section of Little Beaver Creek is 7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. The starting location is a reasonable drive from East Liverpool-Salem, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Ohio are easier than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. There are nice comfortable hotels here, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Some people     prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. The State Park to Fredericktown section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. The natural beauty of Ohio and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Briefly about the general area: The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Little Beaver Creek. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Little Beaver Creek are in the 10's. From a rainfall point of view Little Beaver   Creek is a pretty common spot; the wettest month of the year is usually July, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is January. Go for a hike on the Fishermans Trail, and magnificent hiking is available along the Gretchens Lock Trail.
